Mz. Avonne Waddell, Music Educator, Singer/Songwriter, and Director, holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from the Schwob School of Music (2018) where she was classically trained as a vocalist. She currently works as a singer and assistant director for St. Luke Church in Columbus GA; offers live performances featuring voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele; and offers a variety of private music lessons emphasizing a well-rounded approach of international songs and genres to challenge and inspire her students.
Many of Mz. Avonne's current students began studying with her through the Columbus Music Academy in Columbus GA, where she led musicians of all ages in private/group lessons, summer camps, and the Christmas choir.
Before St. Luke, she worked as the Music Director of the Striplin Terrace Troubadours Bell Choir and Choral Ensemble at Striplin Terrace Church, collaborating with local musicians, creating vocal arrangements, and recording rehearsal tracks for the volunteer ensembles.
Mz. Avonne has performed in numerous collegiate opera productions and choral ensembles, performed in various musicals and premier All-State choirs, and was Director of Music for student productions of "Into The Woods Jr." and "First Date".
During her time studying at Young Harris College, she travelled to New York City to perform in St. Patrick's Cathedral with her fellow chamber choristers, helped open the Goldrush School of Music in Blairsville, GA as a vocal instructor, and became the Music Director for The Altitunes, YHC's a capella ensemble, for which she performed in and arranged "acapellable" music catered for the group.
Her time at the Schwob School of Music was most fondly spent with the Schwob Singers and the Popular Music Ensemble, which released an album and focused on themed performances such as 50s/60s Protest Songs, Prince tributes, and the Blues.
